Director and Technical Fellow at Medtronic
Erik Scott is a Technical Fellow, Bakken Fellow and Director of Advanced Development at Medtronic. He leads creation of new architectures for implanted neurostimulation devices and formerly led the implanted battery technology team at Medtronic, where he invented the industry-changing Overdrive battery technology. Erik is an inventor on over 50 patents and is an author on several dozen academic presentations and book chapters on topics ranging from medical devices to drug delivery and power source design. Erik has a Ph.D. in Material Science from the University of Minnesota and undergraduate degrees in Physics and Mathematics from St. Olaf College.
